    Super easy!

These are very easy to install, and I also appreciate that the screws were true and did not required any pre-drilling to seat.

A quick solution for additional storage.

Posted by Dave Schmidt on Feb 28th 2018

The Attic Dek was light and very easy to move up into the attic space. My home was built in 1948 and due to its age there were slight inconsistencies in the joist spacing and lumber dimensions. With this being said I did have to use a Drimmel tool and remove several of the tabs from the underside of the attic dek tiles. This modification was quick work with the appropriate tool. And doing this modification should not negatively reflect on the Attic Dek product. It did install very easily. Remember, every situation is different and sometimes things don’t work as planned without improvising a workable solution. During this project, I gained over 172sq.ft. of much needed storage. It was a quick weekend DIY project. My only suggestion to add to your standard personal safety equipment (safety glasses, gloves, etc.) are knee pads, because crawling around on those tiles for a few hours installing the many screws is like crawling on overturned milk crates. Great Product!

    Good solution for attic flooring

Posted by David Dorsky on Feb 13th 2018

Very easy to install, provided that all joists are exactly evenly spaced. However, some of mine were not spaced at 16 inches, so I drilled holes and used a countersink to put the drywall screws in different spots on the flooring. This also required removing the spacing tabs on the bottom, which was easy to do with a pliers. Even with this extra work, the flooring is still great for this application. Therefore, you might consider putting some thicker reinforcements around the perimeter to allow stronger support for screws if they have to be placed in different spots. Also consider putting together a "kit" of differently-sized units for irregularly spaced joists. I'll bet a lot of people would buy it along with the regularly sized units. It would save time in installation.
